program note:
This electroacoustic piece was composed for the WFS-System (Wave Field Synthesis System) at the H0104 Hall of the Technical University Berlin. The sound materials were processed and organized via a real-time algorithmic sound-generating system based on various granular sampling technique. These materials were originally made from sampled flute sound which was performed by flutist Sabine Vogel. The transitional motion of timbre is related to the spacial motion in the space. And it makes an immersive perspective in acoustics to the audience. The compositional algorithm and sound synthesis programs were all written in Max/MSP. For editing and mastering, Pro Tools was used as well. This piece was commissioned by DAAD Berlin, and was realized at the Electronic Music Studio of Technical University Berlin in 2007.
